About Lioriza

The story of our grove, past & present

A family initiative is hidden beneath the name “LIORIZA”, along with experience and tradition in the olive oil and olives production.

Stavropoulos family welcomes you in the small village of Vournazi, 22 km from Kalamata, and only 8 km from Ancient Messini, one of the most important archaeological sites of the country.

The privately owned olive groves on the slopes of the sacred mount of Ithomi along with the father Stavropoulos’ experience in production and sale of olives and olive oil from 1968, were the legacy for Stavropoulos Jr.

Our philosophy

At a time when the economic crisis has radically changed the relationship of the Greek family with her fortune and has created new ethics, Giannis Stavropoulos, bearing the burden of his ancestral heritage, has recently launched a new bottling unit in order to maintain his full control at every stage of production, from the time of trees’ flowering to the bottling of olive oil.

He honored his paternal legacy, by sealing it in a bottle. A bottle engraved with the heraldry of his family, named “Lioriza”, as it has been inspired by a local folk expression for the olive tree.

Olive Oil

The standardisation of the oil takes place in an ultramodern rustproof machine network, with no chemical or other treatment, strictly fulfilling the standards ISO 22000: 2005. Giannis has managed to produce an uspoiled product, preserving all its nutrients and its golden colour.

An extra virgin olive oil, so authentic and genuine, produced with the excitement of a young man, who treats his groves with the same respect as his father did.

An olive oil worthy of the family that produces it.

“Little… but precious…”
